Not a single DSer, huh? I’m surprised that so many people opt for the lap band when the statistics are so poor. I guess those who had it early out didn’t know about that, but I’m always shocked when people get one now. Do they not read the research?

    • Adele as far as the DS I am surprised as well. Then again, this is just the ones we know of. Could possibly several celebs out there that have it but want to keep quiet on that. Remember how long it took Star to admit to having RNY?

As far as the band……………..well so many ppl (myself included) fell for that “least invasive” crap. :-(

I am obviously hoping to revise!

For me, the lapband was the only choice, I was a self-pay. I’ve had it for 1 year and I am VERY pleased with the results. I am very close to my goal already. I am sure that everyone will choose the right wls and do well. The main thing about wls is that you have to DO IT!!!!

“Most research (and common sense) indicate that being overweight – carrying excess body fat – is harmful to long term health in many ways. Being overweight increases risk factors for diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis, liver disease, and even Alzheimer’s Disease (most likely due to the relationship between fat cells and chronic inflammation). It is no exaggeration to say that if you are overweight, you will (most likely) have a shorter, less healthy life.”
